Artist + Curator of The Watermill Gallery

Ollie Tuck & Zanna Wilson
Until 28th September 2025

‘In Situ’ suggests an artwork produced on site, in its original setting. Ollie Tuck works ‘alla prima’, from still life setups, expertly and intuitively handling oil paint with an underpinning of skilled draughtsmanship. She has gathered momentum quickly in the art world, both in group exhibitions and online. Ollie has won awards at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists, including the Hollybush Emerging Artist Prize. This year Ollie was chosen to paint live at the RHS Flower Show – all whilst juggling her teething 2 year old daughter.

Ollie’s spontaneous approach to painting lends itself to seizing the painting moments available within a working day as a mother and each painting is kept lively and fresh, painted as a moment in time. Zanna has exhibited Ollie’s work consistently throughout her time as gallerist at The Watermill Gallery and this show is a wonderful fruition of their collaborative exhibiting endeavours.

Zanna is now ‘In Situ’ in the new Watermill space – next door to the bookshop where it has been for over 20 years – building on the reputation established by Kevin Ramage, but now adding her own signature style of curatorship. When not curating and selling pictures, Zanna is whizzing around in her newly acquired Zan Van heading West to Loch Linnhe, Appin and Argyll, the Inner Hebrides (particularly Tiree) and up North towards Aviemore and Ullapool, trying to balance her jostling passions of sharing the work of other artists and immersing herself in the wilds to decompress and reconnect with her own painting practice.

Both Ollie and Zanna share a passion for painting from life and this show is a celebration of that.
